With gas prices climbing, and the news media bragging about all the hybrid vehicles on the road, I wanted to be one of those forward thinking consumers and try out a hybrid car on my next business trip. The Toyota Prius 2007 is a...

Strength

Safety, serious gas saver!

Weakness

It's not for aggressive highway driving.

Bottom Line

By and large, it's not the fastest car on the road, but it is capable of handling the daily grind most cities dish out.

Summary

I never did understand the charm of the 1st generation Toyota Prius. The first Prius was small, underpowered, clumsy, and only had a slight advantage in the MPG department than your run of the mill Honda Civic LX or Toyota Corolla. The 2nd generation...

Strength

Smooth powertrain, gas mileage, all around quality.

Weakness

Exterior design, a little more power would be welcomed.

Bottom Line

Ugly it is, but it's also one of the best cars on the market for under $30,000.

Summary

“It’s very ‘Nintendo’ really”, the salesman said leaning from the back seat to point out the joystick-like gear shift, power button and center display panel. “Not so much a car as a large box of electronics.” Unusually for a salesman, he was right...

Strength

Well built, unconventional, fuel-efficient, low emission. Addictive to drive, lots of toys!

Weakness

Nothing appreciable!

Bottom Line

An excellent vehicle to drive, with lots of space, great fuel efficiency, ultra low emissions and very unconventional design and technologies incorporated. Highly recommended.

Weakness

restricted driving position, greeny-geeky stigma

Summary

We bought a 2007 Prius a month ago, and I've been the primary driver so far. This review will focus on my experience, what I like and what I don't like. I won't give a laundry list of standard Prius features, you can find those anywhere. This site is...

Strength

fuel economy(of course), smooth ride, A/C, eco-friendly.

Weakness

No side moldings, spotty availability, unknown repair costs, rear visibility needs getting used to.

Bottom Line

If you're looking only at dollars and cents, pass on this car. If you value high-technology and eco-friendly, jump in the pool, the water's fine.

Environmentally friendly, great mileage, tax rebate, and a nice ride

Weakness

Not much flash or snob appeal and not lively on hills

Bottom Line

A good car, but the 2008 may be worth the wait

Summary

In a nutshell - I love my Prius, which I've owned for 6 months now. Mine is fully loaded, since I wanted GPS and leather, and those options mean a full package. I haven't regretted the decision once however. The options are very reasonably priced...

Strength

Great mileage, incredibly roomy for compact, cool futuristic console, large GPS touch screen, truly keyless

Weakness

No rearview mirror defrost or sunroof options available, onboard GPS more expensive than portable systems

Bottom Line

For its class, excellent choice as is comfortable, minimal road noise, the best mileage around, very roomy, and all the little extras you could want

Of the hybrids currently available, the Prius is my top choice. I don't really like it though. Let's see why. First the good. The car gets great gas mileage as a hybrid should, but doesn't always. Sometimes the hybrid technology is used to...

Strength

It's the best I've tried.

Weakness

Kind of small.

Bottom Line

It's a nice compact car, but I'm not convinced.
