Summary

Get what you pay for. But it is built tough. The mic is a very poor one the sound isnt good for modulation its very flat sounding to the ppl hearing you. The mic is auquard feeling it is big bulky feeling. The squelch makes a popping sound when the squelch opens at any volume wich is very annoying.

Strength

Very tough, well built and simple to use and operate.

Weakness

Popping squelch control when a incoming call comes in at any volume. Big fat bulky mic. As big as most power mic's but very flat sounding.

Summary

I'm a slip seating trucker have to carry a bunch of stuf into work everyday, wanted a light radio that got out a mile or two, some of our trucks have crappy antennas, and or matchs or coax,so didn,t want to spend money, picked out the cheapest smallest boxes at a truck stop an this was the lightest, bought it,the mount from a radio shack external speaker bolts to the radios mounting bracket the company supplys a stap in mount for a c.b,took it to a c.b. shop 25 bucks they got 15 watts out of it,works great for what i do,gets out 2 - 5 miles depending ,its a cobra should last, has gain an last chanel ,its a good cheap settup, you will never walk on the big dogs but who cares their mostly (you no what i can't print here) anyway that don't need 300 watts to tailgate an talk to each other.

Strength

aside from nobs no differance between this an any other sounds just as good as any other cobra or anything else,it does the job it was made for,if something happens to it,like you forget it the truck an it walks 80 bucks gets you another settup

Weakness

inless you use a kicker witch would defeat the purpose of a cheap light settup you won't get more than 15-18 watts out of it,but its all in the antenna any way on my base i got out close to 40 miles on 15 watts all watts do is walk on people close to you anyway
