Summary
After having read the other reviews on this set, I feel like a very lucky guy! About a month ago, the left control key on my original Logitech DiNovo Media Desktop's keyboard quit working, so I chose the MX5000 as a replacement. I wanted a...
Strength
Build quality, durability, featureset, accuracy of mouse.
Weakness
Price, media controls take getting used to.
Bottom Line
I would recommend this set to power users. It isn't as easy to setup as a vanilla keyboard and mouse, but it compensates with extra convenience.
UPDATED: Was bad before...now working...at least in part

Summary
I'm leaving the original body of the review from last year intact, as it may still may be relevant to some. I decided to keep the keyboard, and see if Logitech's software updates ever dealt with the problems I reported below. I'm happy to say that it...
Strength
Great ergonomics and feel on the keyboard. Comfortable, fast, accurate mouse.
Weakness
Software - which was a stumbling block before - now works.
Bottom Line
This SHOULD have been the best keyboard and mouse on the market. Was flakey for months, but new drivers seem to work. A strong candidate.
I purchased this keyboard and mouse combo in a local electronics store with the intention of using it to play computer games on the TV in my living room. My computer sits in an adjacent room, and is visible (line of site even) from the couch. I was...
Strength
Looks very nice, good build quality
Weakness
Horrible software, connectivity problems, too feature laiden
Bottom Line
Good design, bloated and poor drivers/software, buggy hardware, claims a 30 ft range when in reality it's much less - I'd seriously consider something else.
I got this as a gift for Christmas so it wasn't something I choose for myself or I may have come here and done some research and choose something else. My other half looked and saw this was rated #1 so he thought it was the best. I personally thought it...
Strength
Cordless, the mouse, the color and the zoom
Weakness
The beeps, the blunders and no paper manual!!!
Bottom Line
Unless you plan on spending some time to set this thing up.. don't waste it. Go with the fancy mouse and reg keyboard.
To connect with the MX5000 or not to connect...that is the question

Summary
In reviewing a product, most want to know about every little feature and detail. Unfortunately, with the MX5000 there are no user manuals, nothing to guide you or inform you of what this baby is capable of, so I'm going to take a different viewpoint...
Strength
2.4ghz wireless range I mean RANGE! Accuracy, rechargeable mouse, ergonomic comfort, LCD display
Weakness
Bluetooth, No manuals, some areas of redesign increases difficulty of standard tasks.
Bottom Line
If you need or want a wireless bluetooth desktop fora standard computer setup, there are far less expensive sets out there, or No bluetooth...the MX3000 is better.
Keyboard WORTHLESS / Not all Mouse buttons in many soft

KEYBOARD: "Really suck" - reasons: - I have to recharge the batteries every second or third week!!! - The numpad only has numbers, you cannot use otherwise functional buttons through Num_lock etc.!!! - The numpad is not recognised in almost any...
I got this set in place of a MX 3100 that I had to RMA. (It just wasnt working with my media center not enough range) Just as it was to arrive, I read the initial negative reviews about the product. Oh-No! I said. The setup is pretty...
Strength
Great range(but not 60 feet) Huge amount of controll over axillirary windows programs.
Weakness
Can be a Resource hug. Bluetooth sensative to electrical Interference. Programming seems buggy.
Bottom Line
This product has so much potential, but still not as friendly as the MX3100. If you dont need the range(20-30 feet)then get the 3100.
Well, I requested a wireless keyboard and mouse through our technology department because the wires for my regular ones didn't reach under my desk to my docking station so they were running right across my desk. When the guy showed up a week later to...
Strength
Lots of features, rechargable mouse, temperature reading on keyboard.
Weakness
Remember to charge mouse or else you'll be stuck without one if the power dies.
Bottom Line
Recommended to anyone that likes gadgets that have lots of features, but if you could care less, don't waste money on it (unless you're company pays for it) ;-)
Well, i bought the MX5000 keyboard because it looked good had good looking range etc when i started it up the keyboard took a while to find it but it did a few minutes later, after a while of using it, i was satisfied of the keyboard. But after playing...
I have owned this keyboard and mouse combo for about 6 months now. I had great hopes for this combo but the range I have found to only be about 8 feet on mine both for the keyboard and mouse. The mouse tends to lag as though it is dirty so I have to stop...
Strength
Wireless, Great for Media PC hooked up to a Television.
