Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $475.00 from Sam Ash

Summary:
I've owned 2 of these units over the last couple years, and used them both as standalone CPD's and transports. They are clean, clear, neutral sounding units. And, they make great, stable, reliable transports. I just got a great buy on this second unit since it was a floor demo and these CDP's are now discontinued.

Strengths:
Neutral sound, reliable, stable units, reasonable priced.

Weaknesses:
Hardwired remote is several functions are a bit inconvenient...units are now discontinued as of Feb 2003.

Similar Products Used:
Too numerous to list.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $780.00 from Sweetwater Sounds

Summary:
i needed a cd player for my Mackie HRS-824. I found the Denon DN-C680 CD player to be a well built and fantastic sounding player. It contains a single retrackable disc that feels and looks like a high quality piece of equipment. Access speed is fairly high, and very quite (Even though you have to pay extra for the remote). The sound is well balanced and usage is simple and staight forward. I consider this to be one of the best CD player in the $1000 range.

Strengths:
The professional CD player under $1000. It offer a wide variety of connection - XLR, RCA, and AES/EBU.

Weaknesses:
No wireless remote controller. Buttons are a bit over-sensitive.

Similar Products Used:
Tascam series, and Sony PCM series.
